The Department of Digital Arts and Animation (DAA) is committed to being a leading provider of high-quality, industry-standard programmes in animation, gaming, television, filmmaking, and digital advertising. Our goal is to enhance Namibia’s creative industry and contribute to developing internationally competitive professionals.

As part of its programme objectives, the DAA offers short courses designed to equip Namibian nationals, residents, and international participants with specialised skills in 2D/3D animation, scripting for children’s television, scriptwriting for film, foundations in filmmaking and VFX/AI. Through the Animation Skills Accelerator Programme (ASAP), the DAA will graduate its first cohort of globally competitive professionals by October 2025. These programmes will empower participants to become active contributors and service providers in the cultural and creative industries.

The DAA has established robust local and international collaborations with leading experts and partners in Europe, India, Africa and the United States. This network strengthens the department’s role in positioning the Namibia University of Science and Technology as a world-class training hub for the digital economy.
