Julius Silaa is a well-known Namibian cybersecurity and digital forensics expert, serving as a Lecturer in the Department of Cyber Security within the Faculty of Computing and Informatics at the Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST) in Windhoek. He holds a Master of Information Technology (focused on Communication Networks) from NUST, a Bachelor of Engineering and Technology in Informatics and Computer Science from the Moscow Power Engineering Institute (MPEI), and is a certified CCNA instructor. As an active member of NUST's Digital Forensics and Information Security Research Cluster, his research interests encompass information security, digital forensics, deep learning-based intrusion detection systems, and emerging technologies, with his ongoing PhD research centered on eDiscovery. Passionate about advancing cybersecurity education and research in Namibia and Africa, he actively contributes to international conferences publishes papers, participates in institutional events like research weeks, moderates and chair conference sessions, and engages in community initiatives to strengthen the field.
